Full moon festival !
This 11 of February, I brought the guest to the Full Moon Festival !
Few weeks ago, korean celebrated the Lunar calendar's new year.During the Full moon festival, people were writing their wishes on a paper, hang it on a huge hay tree, then at the end of the day, the tree is burnt, so all the wishes become ash and fly to the sky.
(Poetic, but not super healthy to breath ahah!)
It took place at the Namsangol village, you can see the Namsan Tower from there, which is pretty cool.
The first full moon signified a chance to wish for food luck and to ward off misfortune. Of course I want food luck !!!!
This is the hay tree, with the wishes about 2017 on it. (And the Namsan Tower on the background ! )
There is not a lot of paper for the moment because we put ours around 4pm, people will come all the afternoon to write theirs !
You can also break some nuts with a hammer (or with you teeth) to prevent skin problems.
If you arrive early enough to get a ticket, you can have some 5 grains rice balls, which brings you good luck too. But unfortunately, we arrived too late.
(Choosing between sleeping late and miss the ticket or getting up early and get a ticket was a terrible choice I had to do... ahahah!)
Drinking liquor during the first full moon was thought to make your ears sharper and so receive good news.
...So we had some free samples of liquor, which warmed us up a little :)
I took some minutes to customize a little souvenir with stamps so I can bring it back to France and maybe bring a little bit of good luck !
While waiting for the performances, we could try some traditional games, and meet some girls wearing Hanbok (traditional korean costumes).
Those games are so simple but very creative !
And here are our wishes flying ! They set a big fire, sang some korean songs and dance around it.
When the fire became smaller, and so, less dangerous, we were invited to make a circle and dance around it too.The atmosphere was very nice, families and friends were dancing together and singing.
After the festival, we decided to have a korean dinner together !

Here we are eating a delicious Chicken galbi ! Made of chicken ribs, cabbages, spring oignons, cheese, and rice cake.
We all enjoyed it so much ! :)
So I hope this year is gonna bring everybody what they need, happiness, health, peace and fun
!
Happy New Year !
