Bibimbap & Kimbab
Survival guide to order your first meal in Korea
First, let's order Bibimbap !
I think that Bibimbap is the first meal you have to experience arriving in Korea (You may have already had it in the plane if you arrived with some Korean Airlines ! ).
Basically, it's a bowl of rice with veggies and spicy sauce.
BUT ! You can also get it with one egg, or hot beef, raw beef or even in a hot pot, which make the rice roasting and getting crispy at the bottom of the pot !
It sounds very basic but it's very good ! You may be surprised :)
Oh, I almost forgot : the spicy sauce. As much as you feel courageous !
It can be very cheap, in our street for example, you can find a vegetarian bibimbap for 3000 KWN which is around 3$.
If you have enough time to travel through Korea, you can experience a traditional Bibimbap in Jeonju ! This is where you are supposed to find the very best one ! (Sounds challenging hu? )
Personally, I really like it, especially because it's healthy, and it can be a relief for my body after few days eating heavy meals.
Conclusion : Tasty and healthy *_*
It looks like an equivalent of japanese maki (Can I say that, or am I doing a sin among korean people ?... Let's try ! :D )
If you are living in those kind of countries where it's super expensive to get some tasty asian food, (France is an example...) just let me introduce you the holy Kimbab !
It is bigger than a maki, and filled with plenty of veggies !
Then, you can choose to order the beef, tuna, eggs, kimchi, spicy, bulgogi, seafood, octopus...ohhh there are so many options !
And once again, it is super cheap ! I think you can find the basic veggies kimbab for 1500won and the one with meet or seafood for 3500won max.
If it's more expensive, run away ! ahaha ! you can find small restaurants owned by old ladies who cook great food for
a cheap price.
By the way, a lot of people eat kimbab as a snack, when you are a bit hungry around 5pm, it's too early to have dinner but it's too late for lunch. Here is the perfect moment to enjoy kimbab !
Well, now it's time for me to let you run to the restaurant and try those nice meals !
Now it's late at night, and I'm hungry because there is philipinos food at the TV and fried chicken on the table.
Life is not easy...
Hope you enjoyed the article
and see you very soon for more food discoveries in Seoul !
